Qualifying for Round 5 of the Champions of the Future Euro Series got underway late on Friday morning at PFI. The weather was sunny with temperatures in excess of 20°C. The 113 OK-Junior entries were divided into four groups.
Session 1: Anagnostiadis – 56‘’326
James Anagnostiadis (KR/Iame) was leading on the second lap ahead of Jack Illife (Exprit/TM). Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame) took the lead on lap 3 from Kenzo Craigie (KR/Iame). Anagnostiadis regained the lead on the fourth lap and set the fastest lap of 56’326, followed by Dean Hoogendoorn (KR/Iame) at 5 hundredths. Riley Craham (Sodi/TM) was 3rd, a tenth behind, Andrea Manni (Exprit/TM) 4th and Vladimir Ivannikov (Energy/TM) 5th, 2 tenths behind. Schaufler was 7th and Craigie 8th.
Session 2: Baglin – 56‘’118
After two flying laps, Turner Brown (LN/TM) was leading ahead of Ilie Crisan (Tony Kart/Vortex). Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) passed into the lead on his third lap, but Noah Baglin (KR/Iame) concluded in the lead with a fourth lap in 56‘’118, followed by Crisan at 0.141‘’, then Costoya, Jacob Ashcroft 4th at 0.229‘’ and Zac Green (KR/Iame) nearly 4 tenths back. Ludovico Mazzola (Birel ART/TM) was 6th. Augustus Toniolo (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 13th, Thomas Pradier (Tony Kart/Vortex) 19th and Matéo Rivals (Sodi/TM) 24th.
Session 3: Coronel – 56‘’386
Rocco Coronel was fastest on the first lap ahead of Aston Sharp (Gillard/TM). Coronel set the fastest time of a somewhat short session in 56’386 on lap 3, 0.121 seconds ahead of Iacopo Martinese (KR/Iame), with Archie Lovatt (Exprit/TM) following in 3rd, ahead of Jarrett Clark (Exprit/TM) and Arjen Kraeling (KR/Iame). Louis Cochet (KR/Iame) finished 24th and Téo Policand (KR/Iame) 28th.
Session 4: Marsh – 56‘’478
Roman Kamyab (LN/TM) was in the lead on the second lap ahead of Scott Marsh (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Kit Belofsky (KR/Iame). Marsh was fastest with a fourth lap time of 56‘’478, 15 thousandths ahead of Filippo Sala (LN/TM) and Henry Domain (Exprit/TM). Firhand Qarrar (Parolin/TM) was 4th at 43 thousandths and Belofsky 5th.
