It was still 33° on the Val Vibrata track on Sunday afternoon for the Final of the European KZ Championship. Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) and Viktor Gustafsson (CRG/TM) were separated by just two points in the standings, while Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) was 3rd, 10 points behind. Travisanutto started from 1st place alongside David Trefilov (Maranello/TM), ahead of Lorenzo Camplese (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART/TM). Gustafsson started 5th and van Walstijn 8th.
Travisanutto didn’t get off to a good start and Trefilov was in the lead ahead of Camplese on the first lap. Gustafsson was 5th and van Walstijn 7th. Two points separated the top three in the Championship. But van Walstijn came back to 5th ahead of Gustafsson and changed the situation to his advantage. Trefilov led ahead of Camplese and Travisanutto, then Hiltbrand who set a fastest lap. Camplese was hot on the heels of the three drivers behind him. Van Walstijn overtook Hiltbrand for 4th place Travisanutto then attacked Camplese to take P2 and set the fastest time to take the lead of the Championship from van Walstijn who also had to deal with the threat of Hiltbrand behind him. The suspense lasted right to the finish. Trefilov won the race one second ahead of Travisanutto who took the Championship by one point from van Walstijn, 4th on the line behind Camplese. Hiltbrand finished 5th, then Danilo Albanese (KR/Iame) 6th in Gustafsson 7th, Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart/Vortex) 8th, Emilien Denner (Sodi/TM) 9th with 10 places gained and Matteo Vigano (Birel ART/TM) 10th.
