Antoine Barbaroux (FRA – EOS/Rotax) shared the front row with Imke Arts (NLD – KR/Rotax), but the threat could come from the second row and Xen De Ruwe (SVN – Tony Kart/Rotax). Le Mans was partly cloudy with a temperature of 27° for the DD2 Final of the RMCIT.
Barbaroux led ahead of Arts and De Ruwe, then Leon Mandl (AUT – Birel ART/Rotax) and David Aulejtner (POL – KR/Rotax). Mandl immediately attacked De Ruwe, Lenn Nijs (BEL – KR/Rotax) was 6th followed by Kylian Guérin (FRA – KR/Rotax). De Ruwe moved up to 2nd ahead of Mandl and Arts with a limited deficit of 6 tenths on the leader. De Ruwe had closed quickly on Barbaroux, but the latter reacted and Mandl became so threatening that he overtook De Ruwe at the halfway point. Aulejtner was overtaken by Arts on lap 11 and came in hot on De Ruwe’s heels. Mandl had joined Barbaroux in the battle for victory. The Frenchman thwarted the Austrian’s first attack, but Mandl succeeded on the penultimate lap. Barbaroux fought back on the final lap and crossed the line first before being penalised 6th for causing an incident. Mandl was declared the winner, De Ruwe took 2nd place against Arts, Guérin was 4th, then Aulejtner 5th.
