The weather had improved at Sarno for the Mini U10 Final of the WSK Super Master Series, but the track remained damp in places. Lucas Palacio (KR/Iame) and Jean Poujol (Parolin/Iame) were among the three drivers who opted for slick tyres. Carl Nellegard (Tony Kart/TM) took the lead at the start, followed by Henri-Constant Kumpen (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Andrea Iannone (Energy/Iame), while Palacio, in 4th place, was soon back in the lead. For his part, Poujol quickly jumped up to 3rd place with 17 places gained. Palacio immediately pulled away from Kumpen by almost three seconds. Poujol soon moved up to P2 4.7″ behind Palacio. The third slick driver, Gabriele Iacomelli (DR/TM) was back in the top three. Kumpen secured 4th place well ahead of Achille Rea (Tony Kart/Vortex). Nellegard retired at the end of the race. Palacio triumphed nearly 10” ahead of Poujol, with Iacomelli 3rd at 1.6”. Kumpen finished 4th at 23” from the winner, followed at 4.6” by Lazaro. Niccolo Perico (Energy/TM) was 15th after a penalty, but that didn’t stop him from winning the championship.
