WSK Euro Series – 1/2 Franciacorta – Sunday 30th June – dry track, sun and a few clouds, 32° – OK-Junior Final – Vega tyres
Roman Kamyab (LN/TM) got off to a perfect start against Devin Walz (Exprit/TM), Filippo Sama (LN/TM) and Niklas Schaufler (KR/Iame). Aloïs Girardet (Energy/TM) got off to a good start and moved up seven places. Walz lost ground, Schaufler moved back into the top three ahead of Jack Illife (Exprit/TM). Dries van Langendonck (Exprit/TM) had climbed nine places to 6th. Meanwhile, Kamyab was already nearly a second ahead of his team-mate Sala, who was beginning to come under pressure from Schaufler and van Langendonck behind him. The Belgian went on the attack for P3 midway through the race and went on to overtake Sala for 2nd place. He found himself 1.8″ behind Kamyab with seven laps to go. Schaufler lost ground in 6th position. Kamyab managed his race perfectly and took a superb victory with a 0.679″ lead despite van Langendonck’s magnificent 13-place comeback. Sala was 3rd at 2.6″, Illife 4th and Arata Endo (Tony Kart/TM) 5th.
