It was 33° at Val Vibrata for the Final of the European KZ2 Championship. Mattéo Spirgel (Sodi/TM) was in the lead on the first lap ahead of Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) and Daniel Vasile (Birel ART/TM). Markus Kajak (Maranello/TM) was 7th ahead of Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) and Marek Skrivan (IPK/TM). Alessio Piccini (Parolin/TM) went into a spin and sank to the bottom of the standings. Orlov was in pursuit of leader Spirgel, Kajak was back in 4th ahead of Kasper Schormans (Sodi/TM), who retired after a spin. Orlov was on Spirgel’s tail as the halfway point approached. Jean Nomblot (Sodi/TM) was up to 7th behind Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM). Schormans attacked Vasile for P3, while Spirgel kept Orlov in check. Miguel Costa (Parolin/TM) retired with a technical problem, followed by Maximilian Schleimer (Maranello/TM). Orlov managed to overtake Spirgel on lap 20 and went on to win. Orlov won 7 tenths ahead of Spirgel, Schormans was 3rd at 2.5”, 0.881” ahead of Vasile and Bertuca 5th ahead of Morgatto and Nomblot. Corentin Rousseau (Birel ART/TM) was 20th and Téo Blin (Tony Kart/Vortex) 25th.
Spirgel took the European Championship with 176 points, ahead of Vasile (142 points) and Orlov (140 points).
